Robert McCord

Robert McCord and Rebecca Toland's Family Bible are contributed by Dr. James William (Bill) McCord.  Robert was the son of Elisha and Sally McCord.  Elisha was the son of John McCord and Alice (Else) Hyatt of Lincoln County, Georgia.  Robert was the Master of the "Stately Oaks" plantation near Jonesboro, Georgia.  This plantation was used by Margaret Mitchell as a model when she wrote Gone With The Wind.  The plantation house has been moved about four miles from its original location.
